Tim Rafferty, PGA
At-Large Director

Tim’s love for golf began at a young age. Inspired by his Grandfather, a former Professional in Michigan, Tim pursued a career in golf. He graduated from Ferris State University in 1990 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business and a minor in Professional Golf Management. Tim served two internships at Dallas Country Club and TPC Scottsdale during his college years.

After College, Tim began his career at Troon as a part-time cart washer over thirty years ago. He has been the Head PGA Pro at Troon Country Club since 1996. He and his wife Jolanta of 26 years met at Troon and are the proud parents of 16-year-old twins (Connor and Victoria).

Tim makes certain that each Member and Guest’s golfing experience exceeds expectations. He devotes a great deal of time to enhancing the golf program at Troon Country Club by playing with and teaching members of all abilities, mentoring numerous aspiring golf professionals, staying involved in the local golf community, and competing in local PGA events.

Tim has been featured on television programs, magazines, and newspaper articles and was a writer for the Scottsdale Republic for 3 years on a wide range of golf topics. For 14 years Tim was the teacher of the New Member Orientation class for the Southwest Section PGA. Tim’s passion for the game of Golf and development of future Golf Professionals is evident by the countless Apprentices that have achieved their Class “A” PGA membership under his watch.
