Tim Sam, PGA
At-Large Director
As a native Michigander, Tim Sam graduated from Ferris State University’s PGM program in 2001. Through his experience with his PGA Internships, Tim quickly found teaching and coaching was going to be his passion and career-path within the PGA of America. His teaching and coaching journey began with the Faldo Golf Institute in Palm Desert, California. Under the tutelage of Mike Ellis (a fellow Ferris State Bulldog), Tim began to expand his golf swing knowledge as well as his curiosity for what makes golfers better the absolute-most efficient way.
In 2004, Tim moved back to Michigan and began his career with GOLFTEC. Seventeen short years later, Tim continues to love the GOLFTEC model of coaching. He has coached over 1,500 students and over 40,000 golf lessons during that time. Tim takes pride in having had the privilege to work with players of all skill levels, ranging from total beginners to aspiring tour players. In addition, his role has expanded from the Franchise-side of GOLFTEC to now on the Corporate-side, serving as the Nevada Regional Manager.
In addition, Tim has served on the Southern Nevada Chapter PGA Chapter Board of Directors since 2010. His role has ranged from Education and Events Chairperson, Awards Committee Chairperson, Secretary, Vice-President, President, and Honorary President. He has a dedication and passion to serve the PGA in every way he can.
Tim has also served on the Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association Board of Directors since its re-inception in 2015. He served as President for 3 years, and he still serves as a member of the Board of Directors. Tim and his wife Tanya live in Henderson, Nevada with their favorite fuzzy kiddo, Rainey.
