DANNY MEDINA NAMED SOUTHWEST PGA FOUNDATION EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – May 5, 2023 - The Board of Directors of the Southwest PGA Foundation has named Danny Medina the new Executive Director of the Foundation.
Medina, a 14-year member of the PGA of America, most recently served as the PGA Director of Golf at the Stone Canyon Club in Oro Valley, Ariz., and prior to that, 16 years at Omni Tucson (Ariz.) National Golf Resort & Spa.
"We are thrilled to have Danny as our new Executive Director of the Southwest PGA Foundation," said Michael Haywood, Chairman of the Southwest PGA Foundation. "With Danny’s extensive experience and proven leadership, we believe he is the perfect candidate to lead us through our next phase of growth and impact. A native of Tucson, Medina's hiring aligns with the Southwest PGA Foundation's strategic growth plan to expand its programming, development, scholarships and outreach initiatives, including PGA HOPE and Birdies for Good.

Medina has served on the Southwest PGA and Southern Chapter PGA board of directors, including president of the Southern Chapter PGA and volunteering his time as the Vice Chairman of the Southwest PGA Foundation. Among his many honors in both the Southwest PGA and Southern Chapter PGA, Medina was recognized as the 2018 Southwest PGA Golf Professional of the Year, the highest honor bestowed on a PGA Professional, and the recipient of the 2021 Southwest PGA Patriot Award, which bestows special recognition on a PGA Professional who personifies patriotism through the game of golf and demonstrates unwavering commitment and dedication to the men and women who have valiantly served and protected our country.
