Min Park Appointed to the Southwest PGA Board of Directors

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Southwest PGA is pleased to announce that Min Park was recently appointed to the board of directors of the Southwest PGA at the Association's most recent meeting of the board. Park fills the vacated seat of Kendall Murphy, who accepted the PGA Career Consultant position for the Northern California PGA.

“We are excited and welcome Min to the Southwest PGA Board of Directors,” said Jay Larscheid, President of the Southwest PGA. “During his time in the Section Min has been dedicated to the advancement of the membership and the Association and the leadership will no doubt benefit with him as a director.”

Park, 42, PGA Director of Golf at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, began his professional career in golf in 2009 at Troon Country Club in Scottsdale. During his time at Troon, Park served as the club and cart washer, starter, ranger, outside service supervisor and, ultimately, Assistant Golf Professional. He earned his membership in the PGA of America in 2011.

During his six years at Troon he became well-versed in teaching, administering tournaments and overseeing day-to-day golf operations. After a season as an assistant at Tatum Ranch Golf Club in Cave Creek, Ariz., Park moved to Talking Stick in 2015, first as an Assistant Golf Professional then as the PGA Head Golf Professional, and since 2018, PGA Director of Golf.

Throughout his professional career, Park has displayed a passion for education for himself and PGA members to enhance their management techniques and leadership skills, while learning the various business aspects of the golf industry. Park earned PGA certification in General Management and has served on numerous committees in the Southwest PGA. He was honored in 2017 as the Southwest PGA Merchandiser of the Year for Resort Facilities.

Park will serve out the remainder of Murphy’s term on the board of directors until June of 2023.
