How did you get into golf?
I started playing golf by tagging along with my Dad in a 9 hole Native American golf league in Albuquerque, NM.  My dad had a good friend in the league and introduced me to his son, Notah Begay III.  We took our first clinic together.  We became good friends and continued to play in NAGA (Native American Golf Association) tournaments with our Dads and in Junior golf tournaments. 

Who would you identify as your mentor and/or individual you credit for your passion for golf and the industry?
My Dad and Step-Dad both loved golf and helped challenge me to grow in the game.  I believe all of my bosses and coworkers were mentors for me in the business.  I continuously asked questions, searched for knowledge and new experiences, and learned from every good and bad decision throughout the years.  Notah Begay III continues to give me inspiration through the game of golf and his work with Native American projects. 

What are the obstacles you've overcome during your journey in the golf industry?
The same challenges we all face in making a decision to do what we love without the financial gain available in other careers.  Forging ahead as an Assistant Golf Professional with the hope and belief that putting in the work will lead to progress and a better life. 

What would be your message to others like yourself, who are on the fence when considering a career in the golf?
Commit and see where the journey takes you.
