Justin Henderson, PGA is the General Manager/Director of Golf at Antelope Hills Golf Courses and is making quite the impact in the community.

“He’s genuinely in love with the game of golf and the people surrounding it,” long-time mentor of Henderson, John Gunby, said.

Between managing Antelope Hills and its golf operations, Justin Henderson hosts five different local high schools for practice, play, and matches. 

“I do it because I want to give back to the kids in the community, and the game of golf itself,” Justin said.

Justin’s passion for junior golf stems from when he was a kid growing up in Idaho. He would go to his local municipal golf course and the PGA Professional, Earl Simpson, would let him hit balls on the range for free.

“As long as I helped pick up those golf balls and cleaned up the place, I was able to practice thanks to Earl,” Justin said.

Justin would spend time in the golf shop and got his first taste of what the golf industry was like.

“Starting at the age of 10 I knew I wanted to be a golf professional,” Justin said.

Fast forward to now, and the PGA Professional now has 40 PGA Jr. League participants, two junior camps, a Special Olympics program, and offers free range balls to kids. 

“I don’t charge kids for range balls,” Justin said, “as long as they help pick up empty baskets, they are always welcome.”

Kids play free after 3:00pm at Antelope Hills as well. Over time, Justin has accumulated many relationships with the junior golfers that have stepped foot on Antelope Hills’ property. 

 “I have created several bonds and relationships with the junior golfers I have helped over the years,” Justin said, “I can’t even keep count now.”

One of his junior golfers, Nolan Brunner, is now 16-years-old and works for him at Antelope Hills. Henderson started teaching Brunner when he was 8-years-old, and now he plays for his high school golf team. 

“I am fortunate that I am able to have all of these programs, and I look forward to growing the game and the programs every day,” Justin said, “I cannot put into words what it feels like to be able to help so many junior golfers. It’s very rewarding.”

Justin Henderson went from being a 10-year-old junior golfer wanting to become a PGA Professional, to being a PGA Professional who is a great mentor for junior golfers.
